Joseph V. Ippolito, J.D., SPHR
Director and Senior Advisor
Joe Ippolito is Director of CES and a Senior Advisor.  He is also an
Adjunct Professor of Business at Brevard College in North Carolina.  He
teaches courses in management, business law, critical and practical
reasoning, and human resources. He was previously Chair of the
Business Department at Centenary College in New Jersey, and taught
courses in management, business law, human resources, and sports law.

Before his career change, Joe spent more than 25 years in the law
departments of AT&T and Lucent Technologies.  He was a Managing
Corporate Counsel in the Lucent Law Division, managing the Litigation
organization, where he managed litigation and dispute resolution matters
involving antitrust, labor and employment, commercial, and class action
issues.  Prior to his Lucent tenure, he was a General Attorney in the
AT&T Law Division managing the Labor & Employment section, where he
handled and managed litigation arising from employment-related matters
as well as labor arbitration matters.  He served as counsel to Company
Collective Bargaining committees in 1980, 1983, 1986, 1989, and 1992.  
He also advised AT&T’s Human Resources organization.  

Previously, Joe was an Assistant Prosecutor in Passaic County, New
Jersey.  He also served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the    
U.S. Army, where he acted as Chief of Military Justice at Fort Dix, New
Jersey. He is a member of the Society for Human Resources Managers
(SHRM) and holds a certification as a Senior Professional in Human
Resources (SPHR).  He received his B.A. from St. Michael’s College
before receiving his J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School.
